Come one, come all! We are breaking tradition from our weekend tree tours, and offering one on a weekday for those of you with flexible schedules.
Date/Time: Tuesday, October 20th, 2026 @ 10am (plan on 2-3 hours)
Where: Monument Preserve (in Monument, drive West on 2nd Street, cross the RR tracks, and turn left (south) at the stop sign on Mitchell Avenue. Drive south to Mt Herman Road. Turn right on Mt. Herman Road and drive about a mile or less until you see Nursery Road to your left. The parking lot is directly on the corner of Mt. Herman Road and Nursery Road. If you use Google Maps or other, it may take you to a different Mt. Herman Trailhead - hence the "old-fashioned" directions.)
This is a beautiful, quiet area adjacent to an old nursery/tree farm. The prominent Monument Rock and a natural spring will be on our tour as well, with Norma giving some history on the tree farm. There are several "wow" trees here as well, so it will be a nice mix of layers of history in the area.
